An Apology And Explanation In Regards To Last Night's Fiasco

To my Fellow Caledonians, especially those of the Red Team:

First, I offer my apologies, for my actions based on *ignorance*. When I joined the Blue team several days ago, I was under the impression I was an accepted member of the rp. There was a lack of communication between Miss Lapin and Colonel Scaggs, and they never added me to the third rp group of which both teams were members. So I never heard the announcement of a second attack launch time. When I enetered the Red Camp, I had done so with the understanding that the combat had already begun. As it was in the heat of battle, I was really paying no attention to the normal chat. I never saw requests for returning to my camp in normal chat, and was not aware there was a command to return to camp in the third encompassing rp chat. So I attacked.

Now I know *nothing* of orbitting, except at the very outset, when i accidently killed one of my own team members in the distance, thinking red team was invading our camp, and that team member then orbitted me. After that point, I was working my way on my own to your camp. The entire time I used Ordinal Malaprop's revolver. Everyone I shot, "died" according to the HUD, myself included. Not one person I shot was orbited. After I "died" the 5th time, I withdrew from the field of battle to the medics' tents, where I pretty much sat out most of the second half of the combat as a wounded soldier. While I lie in the tents as a wounded, I was attacked several times by red team members. I grumbled to the medical staff about it, and about why no one else would avail the uses of the Dr.'s and nurses in the field. But I didn't make a stink of it to anybody else.

As far as flags go...I tried *multiple* times to steal the flag you were carrying. Oddly, I wasn't able to take it from you. I automatically *assumed* it was a glitch. It never even crossed my mind that you made a false flag, or tinkered with the flag to make it unobtainable. As lag was incredibly high, I wrote it off as that.

After the combat was over, I was accused of cheating. That broke my heart. I LITERALLY (in RL) cried for three hours over that. Anybody who knows me should know that my behaviour in Caledon has almost 99.999999% consistently had been one of behaving *honourably*. Goddess, I would never risk loosing friends (and I would like to think I have friends on both teams), over a stupid, old silly "capture the flag game". I found out *after the fact* that I had upset people, but God and Goddess is my witness, I *never* intentionally tried to harm anybody, nor did I ever intend to cheat. I do apologize for my actions, but I hope with all my heart that you all recognize that what I have done was done out of *ignorance*. If I had known there was a third chat group, I would have asked to be made a member of it. If that would have been the case, I would have heard the command not to commence the attack yet, and I ***NEVER*** would have attacked red team till the signal was given. I hope you find it in your heart to forgive me. I have been close to tears (RL), all day over this, anguishing over the potential loss of friends because of this fiasco. And to me, my friends in Caledon are dear to my heart, and I desire to lose none of them.

Lady Amber,

First let me apologise ureservedly and entirely to you and everyone else involved in this for all the bad feeling that this unfortunate event has stirred up. I accept full responsibility as the main organiser in charge of running this aspect of the milita RP.

Really, I should have checked the make up of both teams before the combat began and ensured that everyone involved was part of the Red vs Blue chat group, but I didn't do this.

There have been a number of failures and mistakes involved in running the battle this weekend and am willing to shoulder the majority of the responsibility for this.

One of the most disturbing parts of this entire weekend is the casual way people have started accusing each other of cheating and underhandedness, when in reality most of the failings in the battle this weekend were due to griefing, lag, lack of communication and genuine mistakes.

I am very sorry that this whole fiasco has caused you so much upset, Lady Amber, and I am more than happy to have a chat with you in world about this.

*gives you a big, giant, crazy long hug* I just want to say I'm sorry on behalf of *everyone* invloved in this RP. We should all be ashamed of ourselves that something that was meant as a week of fun to raise money for charity resulted in the RL pain of not only you, but many others I am sure. You are indeed honorable, more so now, and I hope you can hold you head high and always remember that. *gives you one last sqeeze for good measure* -Kacy :)

Lady Amber -
I know you to be most honorable, and I am sorry that what was meant to be fun has turned out to cause pain not only to you but several others.
I shall add my hugs to Ms Despres'.

returns Miss Kacy's hugs Thank you for your kind words, Miss Kacy! They are greatly appreciated.

returns Lady Eva's hugs Thank you as well, Lady Eva. You have no idea how fearful I was of angering people I love against me, especially knowing that I had done no wrong intentionally. And welcome back from your trip!

Awww - I'm so sorry that what seems to me (as a Jonny-Come-Lately reader of the events rather than a participant) to have been a wonderful idea, has been marred for you. I'm sure that if everyone takes the event in both the spirit it was intended, and as a learning experience for future events, any unpleasantness will blow over soon enough. I hope the Prof will hold another such event in the future :)

Yours in Travel,
HeadBurro Antfarm, esq.

Yes, you may give me a hug as well, Miss Fuschia! smiles andhugs Fuschia Thank you.

Mr. Headburro, I am not sure we have met yet inworld, but I am sure we will. I am positive things will continue to settle down. For myself, I would like to see one final battle with the aliens (with push and kill turned off in the sim). Primvernesse is wonderful sim for this kind of combat, and the terrain is breath-taking!
